A story about NancyWhite
Nancy is an amazing woman – more a wonderful force of nature really. I had the pleasure to meet her at an eMint event she was speaking at in London last year.

I think I first read Nancy’s blog Full Circle without knowing much about her but went back to it again and again as it gave me a lot of information about communities and networks, a topic I am also very interested in.
Then I interacted with Choconancy in the online social networks forum in 2005 and her name kept cropping up everywhere I surfed. She gave several workshops in Australia and Portugal, where people I know were involved. Finally she joined my Nature in Circle groups in Flickr and I have added her as a contact.
As I am going to Seattle for the Tesol conference this year, I hope she will be there so I can finally meet her f2f.
I’d been a reader of her blog for a while, but met her at the Northern Voice 2006 conference in Vancouver… she had a packed room on her session on Seven Competencies of Online Interaction, which I spontaneously managed to record the audio, leading to a fascninationg series of loosely joined cooperation from around the world as others added imags, turned it into a annotatide slide show, and more:

That was one of the most profound experiences of how “social software” really ios more about the social end, not the software.
And despite her love of chocolate and me being diabetic, we have a great connection!
Of course we met only before, but F2F for the first time at blogher.
Just meeting her alone would have made the trip to the states worth the time, cost and effort. It is even more fun to be around her than just reading her.
And she like chocoloate. She brought chocolate. I love her! ;)
I finally met Andy F2F a week ago in London along with some other fine folks. We talked about Drupal, then went for a walk along the s. bank of the Thames and had a lovely day.
Afterwards, I was reminded about why I liked Andy online and offline—he followed up after a meeting filled with ideas with some concrete action. Wonderful!
I met Nancy White finally, right here in London and I’ll probably make it to the emint talk on Monday 17th July as well.
I met Marnie F2F at Blogher, but I’ve known her online for quite a while. Lots of intersecting circles!
Ruby stays memorable in my mind for her sharp mind, strong ideas about blogging and RED SHOES! WOO HOO!
